I don’t hate Android then why I use Apple?

Many of my Android user friends have recently asked me why I use Apple! If someone asks my Mom why anyone would buy iPhone, she’d say because it’s expensive. That’s just naive! I don’t agree with this theory that people just buy iPhone because it’s premium, but there definitely are many people who have an abundance of wealth and buy iPhone just to flaunt their money or consider it a status symbol. iPhone is good for anyone, even the dumbest user as its interface is very intuitive and the learning curve is considerably better than Android.
Android is good, but I love Apple. It’s like you appreciate other girls/guys but love only your partner. This love is very reasonable. I’m here to give you my reasons. I use Apple products because of its reliability, security, stability features and the confidence that if I invest in one product today, I can use it without any problem for at least 5 more years! Till 5 years, the product would provide almost the same experience as the newest phone in the market. This is one of the reasons given by Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple and other media for the recent decline of iPhone share (But don’t worry, Apple is still the world’s largest IT company by revenue). My father is still using iPhone 5s running the newest iOS 12 with almost all the features as contained in the latest iPhone Xs. Of course, there are some extra features like better camera, speed, AR, etc getting added each year but we don’t always need that, do we?
I like the Android system, it is one of the most important inventions of last decade and has changed the day to day life of the whole world. It gives the freedom to install all sorts of apps as Google has little restriction on the apps. This is at one level excellent thing but at another level really frustrating if your system get infested by viruses and you have to install extra anti-virus app to deal with it. This is ridiculous. We need to deal with the virus infecting the human body as well as machines. Even if your phone has an incredibly good configuration, your model is high end; still, you’re prone to these problems. This problem is challenging to deal with for the Google as it comes from the openness of the Android system. This is the strength and the weakness of the Android system. Any manufacturer can install Android system on their device given that they allow Google services to be the default options. This is the business model for Android by Google. This is also the reason why many Android phones are so cheap as many phone manufacturers don’t have to invest in the software development the way Apple does in iOS. Some manufacturers provide added security to their device, but it still has some limitations.
Another reason why I love Apple is that Apple is the innovator. The computer revolution of last few decades can mostly be credited to Apple and Steve Jobs! Before Steve Jobs and his partner founded Apple, the computer was all like the grandpa’s old radio without screen or mouse. Steve Jobs after freshly returning from India, and looking at a vague model of a television-cum-computer got fascinated by its scope. He decided to refine the model to give it a beautiful and more straightforward look. He even chose the name “Apple” because he knew that people always thought computer to be something for scientists and engineers. He wanted to give it a name that can give it a feel of being as simple a basket of apples on the dining table. Before Apple, all big tech companies thought that computers are for the government or of industry use. The introduction of the Apple II model with a beautiful screen and mouse changed all that. People, who didn’t even had any practical use, loved buying it. One reason was its incredibly attractive look. They like to keep it in their drawing room like some flower case or a beautiful painting. This all happened during the 1980s, and this computer model went on to capture the imagination of more and more people meanwhile Steve Jobs had been kicked out of his own company at the beginning of 1980s. His priority of innovation over sales displeased the board of governors of Apple. After the dismissal of Steve Jobs from Apple, not only Apple but the whole computer industry suffered from the stagnation of innovation.
Finally, when Apple realized its mistake and brought Steve Jobs back, he started innovating again. He introduced redesigned Mac, changed the music industry by introducing iPod and iTunes. In 2007, Apple launched iPhone, the phone which can do all sorts of the stuff with the touch of fingers. It changed the phone industry forever. Later, all companies including Microsoft, Google started copying Apple and got into a race to come up with some mobile operating system which can work like iPhone. Google won the race and introduced Android in 2009 and gave it for free with some conditions. This lead to the production of a huge number of smartphones. Google made sure that no one else can make a similar operating system by killing or buying the budding developments. It decided to join Apple as it cannot overtake it.
I tell you the story of Apple because it’s important to know it to understand why Apple does things which seem crazy steps to many people. Apple has suffered once because of not innovating, and now it is the priority of the company.
There’s never been a real competition between iOS and Android and (if you strongly demand an answer) if there’s been then Apple has been leading the way all through. The powerful privacy, reliability, and stability measures of Apple made its user never to leave its ecosystem rather become more indulged. In short, we buy a phone to help us improve our productivity not to increase the complications. iPhone seems to serve this purpose better than others for now!
